There are many ways to portray a person. It can be a classical headshot, and it can be a situational image where more than the head is shown. A person portrayed can be dressed in their best clothes and seated in front of a calm backdrop, and it`s fine, too. Me? I believe in portraying the personality rather than just facial features. I believe in character and soul, lurking through the eyes, hiding in the corner of the mouth, frozen in a gesture. At the end of the day, personal preferences is all that matters, but I think , when I look at the portraits of my girls in 20 years` time, I`ll see them just the way they were, and I `ll remember those exact moments and feelings. And I can`t think of anything more important when it comes to photography.
